Linux

Key Insights

The author shares a tutorial on mounting a second hard drive on a Linux server, written after helping a friend who uses the "Bt.cn" panel (which the author criticizes). The tutorial covers four steps: 1) Check existing hard drives using fdisk -ls; 2) Partition the new drive using fdisk command; 3) Format the partition with mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdb1; 4) Add the mount to auto-start by editing /etc/fstab and adding the line /dev/sdb1 /dataext ext3 defaults 0 0. The author advises readers to search Baidu for any questions rather than asking him.

Shell

Shell

fdisk /dev/sdb
n //新建
p //逻辑盘
//默认回车 起始点
//默认回车 结束点

这里其实就已经分好盘了，fdisk -ls可以发现，出现了一个/dev/sdb1的盘;

格式化

Shell

[root@localhost ~]# mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdb1
mke2fs 1.42.9 (28-Dec-2013)
Discarding device blocks: done
Filesystem label=
OS type: Linux
Block size=4096 (log=2)
Fragment size=4096 (log=2)
Stride=0 blocks, Stripe width=0 blocks

1179635 blocks (5.00%) reserved for the super user

        32768, 98304, 163840, 229376, 294912, 819200, 884736, 1605632, 2654208,
        4096000, 7962624, 11239424, 20480000

Allocating group tables: done
Writing inode tables: done
Creating journal (32768 blocks): done
Writing superblocks and filesystem accounting information: done

Shell

[root@localhost /]# cd /
[root@localhost /]# mkdir dataext
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/centos-root  8.5G  1.6G  6.9G  19% /
devtmpfs                 448M     0  448M   0% /dev
tmpfs                    460M     0  460M   0% /dev/shm
tmpfs                    460M  6.5M  454M   2% /run
tmpfs                    460M     0  460M   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sda1                494M  124M  371M  26% /boot
tmpfs                     92M     0   92M   0% /run/user/0
